I got myself an IPad, and this is what happened shortly after...
I decided a little while ago that I wanted to do a collection of art pieces for the original 6 g1 mlp's, I think because they didn't make it into the tv series or much other merchandise (besides Cotton Candy) they haven't been featured as much in other pony art that I have seen. Butterscotch especially I think has really gorgeous colouring so I wanted to make full use of it for this pic!

September G1 Feature - Beautiful Beginnings
Happy Hooves! It's September.
This month we are going back in time to 1982, where it all began.
The first My Little Pony toys were a set of six Earth Ponies, in what is commonly called the "collectors pose" mold.
The My Little Pony theme was first heard in a TV commercial advertising the original six. Animation cels from the beginning of this commercial have come up at auction.
